Week Thirty Four

This week we will continue our look at bacteria and begin our study of protists. CRCTs begin on Wednesday of this week, so rest up!

Week Thirty

This week we will continue looking into genetic advancements, and by Wednesday we should be moving onto our study of "Changes Over Time", Chapter 5. One of the biggest pioneers into the theory of evolution, Charles Darwin, is pictured on the right.

Week Twenty Nine

This week the students will have a challenging test in Genetics on Wednesday. We will spend time in class reviewing, but students need to be studying at home each night also! Another morning review session will be held on Wednesday at 8:10 am. We will end the week by looking into more of the genetic advances that we are using in our day and age.

Week Twenty Eight

Last week we looked at the basics of Mendelian Genetics. This week we will take our studies even deeper and research the complexities of Non-Mendelian Genetics. Toward the end of the week we will also look into advances that have been made in Genetics, including pedigrees, karyotyping, cloning, hybridization, inbreeding, cloning, the human genome project and genetic engineering.

Last week we studied our last body system, so this week we will spend some time summarizing all of the important human body information. We will also begin looking at how all living things are organized through taxonomy. At the end of the week we will begin reviewing our 5 Kingdoms and learning how to use dichotomous keys (taxonomic keys) to identify an unknown organism.
