Week Twenty-Seven


We are still working on Chapter 23, it's a long one! This week we will be talking about cycles of matter in an ecosystem, and we will work more with energy flow in ecosystems by looking at owl pellets and micro slides of microscopic organisms.

A tentative schedule for this week:

Monday- Cycles of Matter Notes and Video
Tuesday- Owls: Top of Food Chain Lab
Wednesday- Continue Owls: Top of Food Chain Lab
Thursday- Making an Outline
Friday- Ecology Micro Slides

Homework this week includes the Energy Flow in an Ecosystem worksheet due on Monday, finishing the Cycles of Matter worksheet by Tuesday, Reading pages 723 - 727 and doing Chapter 23 Vocabulary 11 - 20 by Wednesday, CRCT Packet due by Friday, Finishing the Section 23.3 Outline for a Quiz on Friday, Reading page 731 and Section 23.4, and doing Chapter 23 Vocabulary 26 - 46 by Monday.

Week Twenty-six


What a crazy week last week... There were so many students out with the flu, including me!

This week we will get settled back into ecology and begin a new chapter of study.

**MAKE-UP for Chapter 22 Test will be
Thursday Morning at 8 am. If you missed the test, then you must attend!!**

Tuesday- No School / Teacher Work Day
Wednesday- Review Symbiosis / Group Challenge / Prairie Animal Presentations
Thursday- PowerPoint on 23.1 / Food Chain Video
Friday- Energy Flow PowerPoint / Food Chain Activity / 23.1 Worksheet

Homework this week includes Reading Section 23.1 and working on assigned Chapter 23 vocabulary by Friday, and 23.1 Worksheet by Monday.

Week Twenty-Five


Last week we finished counting up populations and learning about ecological organization, this week we will review Chapter 22 for the TEST, and learn about interactions of living things.

Monday - Finish Ch.22 PowerPoint / Build a Prairie On-line
Tuesday - Go over Ch. 22 Study Guide / Create a Prairie Animal
Wednesday - White Board Review / Finish Create a Prairie Animal
Thursday - Chapter 22 Test / Present Prairie Animals
Friday - Special Presentation

Homework this week includes:

The Chapter 22 Study Guide that is due on Tuesday (handed out Friday in class), and studying for the Chapter 22 Test on Thursday. There will not be a Vocabulary Quiz this week.

Homework this week includes the Ecosystem Picture which is due on Tuesday, Reading Section 22.2 (p.695 - 700) by Wednesday, Reading Section 22.3 (p.703 - 710) by Thursday, Chapter 22 Vocabulary is due on Friday, there will be a Ecology Vocabulary Quiz on Friday, and the Chapter 22 Study Guide is due on Tuesday (2/13).
